  1. Call meeting to order at: 7:01 pm

  2. Members attending:  Marlon Gunderson, Jay Schrankler, Emma Hanson, Ed Trudeau, Scott Hanson, Bill Schanks, Bob Collins, Bruce Olson, Dale Seitzer, Evangelos Savvas, Jon Pierre-Ruhland, Greg Adler


  1. Officer’s Reports

    1. President – Marlon Gunderson

      1. March 10 Member Meeting – Jay on Avionics upgrades

      2. Pancake Breakfast Planning meeting, see old business.

      3. EAA Member Survey in.
            12 responses, priorities align with what we do,  see Q11 recommendations

    2. Vice President – Jay Schrankler
        Planned Programs:

      1. April: Carl Ziegler -21D resident will discuss non destructive testing 

      2. May: Sebastien Heintz, CEO Zenith Aircraft

      3. June: Picnic BBQ and Presentation by Dr Dan Johnson “How to Crash Confidently” about pilot physiology

      4. July: John Mohr-MInnesota Aviation Hall of Fame Member

      5. August: Post OSH recap, cookout. walking hangar tour (3rd Monday!)

      6. September: Combat Helicopters-Barry Hammarback and the Huey story

      7. October: The Perlan Project by Dan Johnson and one other presenter

      8. November: Matt Cooper AME

      9. December: Holiday party and trivia contest

      10. January: Bob Laughley LEA (tentative) 

    3. Treasurer’s Report – Emma Hanson

      1. Treasurer Report March 2025, Reviewed and approved

      2. Donations Report-$653.71-Thank Yous Sent

    4. Secretary - Ed Trudeau

      1. March meeting minutes - Reviewed -Motion to approve: Scott/Jay: approved

      2. Members update: April Renewals 8, Active 98, inactive 3  (new math)

  2. Coordinators/Directors Reports, if any

    1. Facilities – Bob Collins . See report, reviewed and approved

    2. Membership – Scott Hanson- no report

    3. Young Eagles – Dale Seitzer - May Starts YE, Several Youth Protect/Background checks needed

    4. Flying Start – Evangelos Savvas, May 17, same program as last year, 

    5. Education – Jeff Dale- no report

    6. Events – Bill Schanks - events starting to pop-up, will organize for May

    7. Ray Scholarship – Bruce Olson- Scholarship approved

  3. Old Business

    1. Chapter scholarship plan for application process/timeline. (See timetable)
        Marlon to get EAA Air Academy application to adapt for our own.

    2. Fundraising
      Potential for more income from marketing of our efforts to potential donors And sponsors.

      1. Development Director to drive this – Jay will  transition from VP to this.

    3. Tool Library 

      1. Chapter tool list online.

      2. Appeal for hosts in President's column & at member meeting.  

    4. 2025 Air Academy applicants

      1. Ellory Berniard – scholarship recipient,  all set for summer 2025

      2. David Phernetton (Phyllis Jaworski) – accepted, invited by EAA to apply for ‘Campership’. Campership Awarded, David attending.

      3. WoonYi Hanson – waitlisted for Air Academy, possibly next year due to age

    5. Board nominees for November elections

      1. Needed for VP, Facilities Dir, Web/News Editor.

    6. Chapter logo stickers.  Dan Bathke got a quote:    $100 for 100, $150 for 200, $270 for 500.  Membership expressed interest at Jan. meeting. Bruce will rough-up design-May

    7. Facilities related

      1. Possible ceiling asbestos issue – test was negative

      2. Window related cold air intrusion – Bob filled as best he could.

      3. Failed air conditioner course of action.

      4. East side damaged tree – Dave Syverson removed.

    8. Fly-In Fundraiser (brief summary)

      1. Initial meeting (minutes).

        1. Jay soliciting business advertisers some with table inside dining hangar (landed Perceptive Avionics and LE Aero)

        2. Consensus to forgo temp tower (pending Marshal lead approval)

        3. Al has Lions tables/chairs reserved

        4. Bob has website pages for planning info, pilot info, volunteer signup

      2. Priority Actions

        1. Location – Chris Bliska said yes again.  Grill outside.

        2. CAP has gone radio silent on Marshalling. Expect we’ll have to do it.

        3. Recruit Marshalling lead,  PR Lead.

        4. Checking w/Ch.25 on use of their grill.

        5. Flyer – hoping Bruce could do one?

        6. Establish menu

      3. Next meeting Sat. April 19.
