Dave and Diane Syverson's Kitfox 7 has excellent useful load and short field capabilities allowing us to land just about anywhere carrying us, 27 gallons of fuel and an additional 150# of luggage for many underwing camping adventures. 95 knots and 5 hours duration works out well for cross countries; and, although a tri-gear, The aircraft handles grass and less developed simple airstrips very well.
