Tailwinds21D is one of the Flying Clubs located here at Lake Elmo, and many of its members are EAA Chapter 54 members. Along with our Flying Club mission of flying great planes inexpensively, our members also volunteer our planes and time to fly EAA’s Young Eagles, or plan/dream about building our own experimental aircraft. Our Piper Cherokee Six is our SUV of the fleet. With its 6-seats, 300 HP engine, 140kt cruise speed, 98gal fuel, and full glass cockpit, it is used for family trips or when large useful loads are needed.
