Tailwinds21D is one of the Flying Clubs located here at Lake Elmo, and many of its members are EAA Chapter 54 members. Along with our Flying Club mission of flying great planes inexpensively, our members also volunteer our planes and time to fly EAA’s Young Eagles, or plan/dream about building our own experimental aircraft. Our Piper Dakota is our mid-level plane, and steps up to a larger engine and constant speed prop. With its 4-seats, 235 HP engine, 130kt cruise speed, and full glass cockpit, it is used for flying Young Eagles, cross-country flights, or every day flying activities.
