Choosing the right avionics
Monday March 10, 2025
7 p.m.
Jay Schrankler, Chapter 54's vice president, guides you through the process of selecting the right avionics for your aircraft and your personal mission. The event will be held at the Chapter House by the south entrance (off Manning Avenue) of Lake Elmo Airport.
During this interactive session we will be exploring the world of ever expanding avionics for your aircraft. It all starts with exploring your intended mission for you and your aircraft. What type of flying do you do now and what do you see for the future?
Next, we will look at understanding the regulatory requirements found in the FARs. What must you have? What must you do routinely to ensure you are current and compliant to fly?
Then the fun part of exploring some core avionics systems to consider, evaluating system integration and compatibility, we will look at some brands and compare features, consider pilot experiences and training, then end with a review of options around budgets and required maintenance.
