From its earliest days in the '50s, when EAA Chapter 54 was founded by a small group of 3M employees who dreamed of building an airplane, we have been focused on introducing people to the joys of aviation. Chapter 54 represents airplane builders, pilots, and people who don't fly but enjoy looking up when an airplane passes overhead.
From its philosophical origins, the chapter added an important focus: introducing young people to aviation, providing them with their first flight via our Young Eagles program, sponsoring them for a week at the EAA Air Academy in Oshkosh Wisconsin, or providing scholarships for their flight education.
People who want to learn to fly turn to us for help with the process and inspiration for their dream. People who are interested in perhaps building an airplane are welcomed with tours of some of our member's projects.
We meet on the second Monday of each month at ther Chapter House at the Lake Elmo Airport (21D) Spend a few minutes browsing the site, read some of our newsletters, and then drop us a line if you're interested in meeting some like-minded aviation enthusiasts.
We look forward to meeting you.
