The The EAA Chapter 1467 meeting was held on April 27, 2025, at Gilbert International Air Park, with 53 members in attendance. We had plenty of pizza, sides and deserts. President Eddie Brennan opened the meeting by thanking Ron Angerman for hosting and sharing stories about his father’s aviation artwork. Treasurer Jim Matthews gave a report of the club's account.
A safety discussion was given by Don Schmotzer density altitude, emphasizing careful weight and balance in hot weather. Project updates included progress on Steve Hill and Ryan’s aircraft kit, Gerhard Schubert’s work as an EAA Technical Counselor, and “Carbon Fiber's” experiences with the P-51. The VMC Club discussion addressed proper methods for testing an ELT without triggering search and rescue.
Upcoming events include a fly-in at Doolittle Field on May 3, featuring lunch and socializing. The scholarship fund now totals $12,000, with $9,000 from EAA and $3,000 from the chapter, supporting one full and two partial scholarships. The chapter reaffirmed its commitment to the Ray Scholarship and discussed reimbursement procedures.
The next meeting is scheduled for May 18 at Ron Angermans's hangar and will include a BBQ. The meeting concluded with acknowledgments to the host, a reminder to clean up, and a motion to adjourn.
