Shenandoah EAA Chapter 1031

Winchester, VA

2025-02-10 Martinsburg

By: Juergen Nies

I really wanted to schedule our first 2025 lunch flyout for a while, but the weather on the weekends has been either very cold or really windy this year. I usually pick weekends so our working members can join, but yesterday (Monday February 10th) was finally a good day when at least some of our members were able to make it. We picked a close destination at Martinsburg, WV since some of us had commitments in the afternoon.
The temperature was right around 40 Fahrenheit, but the sun is definitely gaining strength. I flew with John Munroe in his RV-6 and John Ely (RV-7A) and Bob Metcalfe (Panther) joint from Front Royal. There was a direct crosswind at MRB, but everyone handled it fine. The lunch was good (as always at MRB) and it was great to catch up with some of our members again.

I hope the weather will be good on weekends again so more of our members can join.
