EAA Chapter 1300 – Meeting Minutes

1. Call to Order & Welcome
Meeting called to order at 7:20 PM by Brian Eldredge.
Purpose: Conduct officer elections.
Refreshments provided by Robert and Kathleen Jones.
2. First-Time Visitors & Introductions
- Jeff Pogue: New to Las Vegas from Los Angeles; private pilot interested in aircraft building.
- David Wyatt: From Phoenix; owns a Cessna 182; PPL, IR, CFI, CFII; works in IT security.
- Desmond & Ethan Lawrence: First-time visitors; Ethan (13) flew Young Eagles and is interested in avionics.
3. Announcements
Safari Helicopters company for sale.
Possible Bose A20 headset for sale (scam caution advised).
4. Young Eagles Report (Robert Jones)
105 Young Eagles flights completed at Boulder City Airport Day.
Overton EAA provided major support.
Simulator located in Robert’s casita is operational; up to 10 hours may be logged with CFI oversight.
5. Motion – Simulator Database Update
Motion by Sebastian Trost to purchase Garmin database update.
Seconded by Alan Zwick.
Motion passed unanimously.
6. Build & Fly Update (Josh Sinclair)
19 youth and 7 parents signed up via QR code at the Young Eagles rally.
First session scheduled for 10 January at Henderson Airport conference room.
Event insurance must be filed 30 days prior.
Kit purchase request submitted to EAA.
7. Officer Elections
- President (2-year): Timothy L. Dura – Unanimous.
- Secretary (2-year): Josh Sinclair – Unanimous.
- Vice President (1-year): Ivan Hoyt – Unanimous.
- Treasurer (1-year): Sebastian Trost – Unanimous.
8. Board of Directors Elections (2-year terms)
Re-elected unanimously:
- Erich Trombley
- Kathleen Jones
- Roger Hansen (in absentia)
9. Advisory Board Proposal
Proposed by Tim Dura: advisory board composed of former officers.
No formal action taken.
10. Holiday Party Update
Details still being finalized; Brian will email location/date.
11. Treasurer’s Report
Presented by Sebastian Trost.
Audit will be conducted by Ivan Hoyt.
Motion to approve by Sara Weiner; seconded by Josh Sinclair; passed unanimously.
