Meeting Minutes for January 8, 2025

Call to Order: 7:03 PM by President Brian Eldredge

Visitors and Guests:
- John Bremner - Student Pilot originally in RAF as a propulsion technician. Will be new web master
- Sarah Weiner- Recently soloed, formerly a creative director
- Morrie Mansell - Attended barbecue, Navy Pilot, retired United Airlines pilot, starting to build an RV-12
- Tre Moore – Has private pilot’s license, working on commercial pilot’s license, owns a Piper Arrow on South Ramp, retired Southwest Airlines ground ops
- Josh Wentworth - Student Pilot close to soloing,
- Darius Moghadam - based at Henderson Executive Airport, owns a 1979 Cherokee Six, has been an EAA member for 9-10 years, invited by Nick Gerber,
Old Business
- Name tags, $10 each. If you need one, contact Seb Trost or Huamei Feng so they can coordinate payment and order them
New Business:
- Robert needs help with the Young Eagles Coordinator job. He would like someone to help him run the Young Eagles rallies
- Zelle is the preferred method of paying dues. See the treasurer for the Zelle account email
- Proposed changes to the bylaws
- Two-year term - President and Secretary are elected at different times than the Treasurer and Vice President
- Conducted through email ballot
- Motion to proceed with the process of changing bylaws (James Cloninger/Ivan Hoyt - approved)
- Discussion to change the requirement of having an outside accountant audit the chapter account annually to allowing the Chapter Vice President to perform the audit annually.
- Motion to amend the proposal so that the bylaws would change whereby an independent outside accountant audits the chapter account only if our balance is over $10,000 dollars (John Bremner/Norm Cruz - approved)
- One officer change - Seb Trost volunteered to be Treasurer
- Motion to elect for two years Vice President Ivan Hoyt and Treasurer Seb Trost (Tim Dura/Erich Trombley - approved )
- Raffle System was explained for the benefit of new members
- New member wanted to know about the possibility of getting time in members airplanes
- Francisco Camargo (Owner of Athenair in North Las Vegas) - Five businesses are being displaced from KVGT - looking for a space in Clark County to operate their business. They are losing their lease
- Treasurer report was given by Huamei Feng and motion to approve (Norman Cruz/Eric Trombley) was passed
