Meeting Minutes for February 12, 2025

Call to Order:                    7:08 PM by President Brian Eldredge

Thanks to members who brought food and gifts for attendees of the meeting (Robert Jones, Andrei Taduran, Sarah Weiner)

• Treasurer Seb Trost - Present
• Director Roger Hansen - Absent
• Director Kathleen Jones - Absent
• Director Eric Trombley - Present

Visitors and Guests:

• Kevin and Kathy Cox – moving into the area and own a Bearhawk
• Bonnie Ritchy – professional pilot flying a Premier Jet for Prestige, also owns and flies a Pitts S2A
• Mike Cummins – his grandson is studying for an aviation career and attends University of North Dakota. This is prompting him to get back into flying

Old Business

• Ballots will be coming out and distributed in the near future concerning changes to the bylaws – next meeting and/or in the mail

New Business:

• Another chapter sent an email to our chapter concerning a Zenith 750 Cruiser with a Viking 130HP engine for sale
• EAA Chapter 1707 is having a pancake breakfast on March 8^th from 8 am to 12 pm at Perkins Field (U08) Hangar 10.
• Asked for someone to volunteer to bring food to the next meeting on March 12^th.
• Please be mindful of emails purporting to be from the Chapter elected leadership soliciting payments for invoices or similar requests.  We will NEVER ask members to pay for invoices or any bills owed by the chapter to a third party.  The only thing ever asked of members to pay for are annual dues or other chapter activities (such as Holiday dinner reservations) that members pay for if attending.  These will normally be paid by cash or check face to face, or through Zelle to the Southern Nevada  EAA Chapter 1300 Zelle account (using ONLY the following email): eaachapter1300officers@gmail.com
• Every time there is a leadership change it’s common for these phishing emails to be attempted.  Please disregard them as they are not coming from any of your officers and these emails can be easily verified as not from us by checking the actual email address they are sent from.
• Discussion about a pre-meeting gathering before the next meeting.  We will attempt an informal meet-up at 5:30 pm on the day of the next meeting on March 12^th at the Chicken and Pickle – 3381 St. Rose Parkway Henderson, NV 89052

Presentation:

• Brian Eldredge gave a presentation on briefings – passenger safety briefings, pre-take-off briefings, and approach briefings.
