16th – Chapter Gathering  6:30pm – Speaker: Greg Hatcher, ATC, presenting on his Air Force career, FAA ATC career and post aviation **DETOUREnter through the entrance off of 46th/Crestmore (near runway 6). If you need a Google Map address to find it, you can use: 4361 Fort Drive, Riverside, CA 92509 then navigate to Stits Hangar 16A *
19th – 70 Anniversary Prep – (Volunteers needed) starting at 1pm **DETOUR: Enter through the QB gate
20th – 70 Anniversary Bash – Ceremony starts at 10:30am – Doors open at 9:30am (Lunch is provided)
22nd-26th – Virtual Homebuilders Week - Register HERE

February

19th – Let's Learn FAA Math Bootcamp: This is a free community event. This is open to all and we highly encourage our teens to attend. This is on a school holiday so school is out! *

     When: Monday, February 19, 2024
     Where: Stits Hangar 16A 
     Time: 10am - 3pm Lunch is provided

20th – Chapter Gathering  6:30pm – Speakers: Bob Marks & Sally Kloman, ATCs, presenting on Air Traffic Control in general AND addressing specifics here in Southern California. They will also be discussing career opportunities in the FAA for young people. *

 

March

16th – FAR/AIM Scavenger Hunt 12pm - 2pm (immediately following Young Eagles). This is a free community event (ages 14+). We highly encourage our teens to attend. *
19th – Chapter Gathering 6:30pm – Speaker: Walter Fus, veteran airline pilot, presenting on what it's like to be an airline pilot *

April

16th – Chapter Gathering 6:30pm – Speaker: Francisco Gonzalez, Aeronautics Department Chair & Assistant Professor at San Bernardino Valley College, presenting on opportunities to expand your aviation education. *

20th – E6B Class 11am - 1pm (immediately following Young Eagles) This is a free community event (ages 14+). We highly encourage our teens to attend. *

21st – Chapter Gathering 6:30pm – Speaker: Chauncey Spencer II from the African Americans in Aviation Traveling Museum, presenting on American Aviation history. Chauncey’s family helped influence Senator Harry S. Truman to fight to establish funding for the training of African American Pilots at Tuskegee Institute for the Army Air Corp.*

June

16th – Chapter Gathering 6:30pm – Speaker: Michael Ingram, General Manager for Guardian Jet Center, presenting on how Michael got into the career field that he is in. He will also present on Aviation Safety with DEF "Diesel Exhaust Fluid" Contamination inside Jet Fuel and how Complacency and CRM play an important part in not only Pilots but also Ground Crew. *

22nd through 28th – AirVenture in Oshkosh, WI

Zenith build project meets every Saturday  (1p-5p) in Hangar 17. Contact Rob R for specific dates/times.
Display Days are every 3rd Saturday of each month from 8a-12p : If we (Ch. 1) are not at the Shady Grove (in front of the Clubhouse), sign offs can be received at the Redbarn (by the fuel pump) from 8am-12pm on the 3rd Saturday. 
 
MINOR VOLUNTEER PERMISSION SLIP: All minor volunteers and minor activity attendees MUST have a permission slip on file at all times. Kindly print the attached waiver and have your parent’s sign it then return it to us. You can email it or hand delivery it to us at the next event. If we do not have a waiver, you will not be able to volunteer. The permission slips are good for 3 years! This does NOT take the place of our Young Eagles waiver. We included a cheat sheet of the responses for the waiver. ALL sections must be filled out.
