EAA Chapter 878

Maple Lake & Buffalo, MN

About Us

EAA’s local chapters are about people, bringing together individuals interested in learning more about aviation as well as sharing their own knowledge.

Chapter members are involved in a variety of social and educational activities, including Young Eagles rallies, scholarships for local high school seniors pursuing a career in aviation, fly-ins, building seminars, and more, to build awareness in the community.

This is the internet home of EAA Chapter 878, one of the worldwide network of chapters of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) which is headquartered in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.  Click here for the Chapter brochure and membership application.  EAA Chapter 878 is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.

The Experimental Aircraft Association embodies the spirit of aviation through the world's most engaged community of aviation enthusiasts. EAA's more than 170,000 members enjoy the fun and camaraderie of sharing their passion for flying, building and restoring recreational aircraft.

Chapter 878 was established in 1986 at the Maple Lake Airport at Maple Lake, Minnesota. We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have fun doing so.

Our members come from throughout the central Minnesota area west of Minneapolis, encompassing the beautiful “lake country” in the neighborhood of the Buffalo and Maple Lake airports. Member meetings are held monthly, and vary in location from these two airports to member homes or workshops. You are welcome at our next meeting or event as our guest.
