John Nicol - Wittman Tailwind

I have attached a couple of pictures of my project which is a 1965 Wittman Tailwind Serial #150.  This aircraft has flown to AirVenture when it was in Rockford, Illinois and to Oshkosh a few times as well.  The original builder knew Steve Wittman and I have a hand written letter from Audrey Poberezny mentioning a propeller sale being dealt with by Steve’s wife Dorothy on his behalf.

It was basically a barn find and I acquired the aircraft in 2018.  Mike Lamb has been instrumental in getting it from derelict to running and there is no way I could have done this without his assistance.

You will also see that I have installed a MakerPlane EMS and screen for testing.  I intend to replace the majority of the panel with MakerPlane avionics probably starting next year after the aircraft has done a few hours and I have learned how to fly it!  I am hoping that after everything calms down with COVID I can fly it to AirVenture in 2022 with the new panel.
