The 2026 deadlines are:
Scholarship opens for applications JANUARY 12, 2026
PHASE 1 APPLICATION DUE: SATURDAY, JAN 26, 2026
Phase 1 (finalists selected) 1: SUNDAY FEB 8
PHASE 2 (interviews of finalists): FEB 9-14 (only for Phase 1 Finalists)
Decision announced on Phase 2: We expect to announce our winners between Feb 15-20.
Our winner(s) will have additional requirements to fulfill, the first two by MARCH 8 or our scholarship becomes invalid.
* = Why, you might ask, do we require the primary (Phase 1) application in late January for a camp at the end of July?
1) The EAA Air Academy requires all campers be identified by the end of February since they have several camps to arrange for June and July. Prior to the camps, there is paperwork to review (camp medical, applications, "camperships", flights info, and more) and logistics to arrange (sleeping arrangements at the lodge, meals, airport pickups, etc). Most of the people involved in these steps need March thru May to finalize everything before they get really busy with running the camps and preparing and running the AirVenture.org event.
2) So for our chapter to be ready by the end of February, our youth scholarship selection committee needs time to compile and score all the Phase 1 applications. Then we need almost a week to complete the Phase 2 interviews and our selection committee needs up to a week to review and score those to pick the winners, then notify EAA - all by the end of February.
