Youth Aviation Resources

When I Grow Up I Want To Be An Aviator!

Many aviation organizations have dedicated resources toward supporting youth and young adults in aviation. Here are some opportunities that are known to us:

The Experimental Aircraft Association has a wide array of programs to help youth and young adults both start and move along in their aviation journey. The Young Eagles program includes: a free introductory Young Eagle flight; student membership to the EAA; a free online training course from Sporty’s, and a free first flight lesson. Other EAA opportunities include: scholarships, internships, and aviation camps.

Our own EAA Chapter 35 offers the Ray Aviation Scholarship for flight training, scholarships to attend EAA camps, and free youth membership for Young Eagles participants ages 8-17.
