Experience hangar flying at its best through the EAA Chapter 1726 VMC / IMC Club.
Real-World Scenarios, Mastered Together
Each month, we alternate between a Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) topic and an Instrument Meteorological Conditions (IMC) topic, creating engaging discussions built around real-world flight scenarios. Rather than lectures or presentations, each meeting presents an actual situation and invites participants to discuss how they would handle it, drawing upon their own knowledge, experience, and judgment.
Who Should Attend?
These meetings are open to everyone. You do not need an instrument rating to participate in IMC Club discussions, nor do you need to be a private pilot, flight instructor, or aircraft owner to participate in VMC Club discussions.
Student pilots, sport pilots, recreational pilots, private pilots, commercial pilots, airline pilots, military aviators, air traffic controllers, builders, aviation enthusiasts, and anyone interested in aviation safety are encouraged to attend.
The Value of Diverse Perspectives
The true value of the program comes from the diversity of perspectives around the room. Every participant brings unique experiences, aircraft capabilities, training backgrounds, and viewpoints that enrich the discussion and benefit everyone involved.
The VMC / IMC Club program uses realistic scenarios to foster open dialogue, improve situational awareness, promote sound aeronautical decision-making, strengthen proficiency, and build a community dedicated to safety, learning, and the sharing of knowledge
Whether you fly strictly VFR, regularly fly IFR, are working toward a new rating, or simply enjoy talking aviation, you'll find every session informative, engaging, and worthwhile.
