Inspiring Curiosity Through Aviation
EAA Chapter 1707 brings pilots, builders, volunteers, students, and families together at Perkins Field in Overton, Nevada. Creating meaningful aviation experiences for all ages in our rural community.
A Rural Chapter Built by Hands-On Aviation
EAA Chapter 1707 is based at Perkins Field in Overton, Nevada, where a small group of pilots, builders, and volunteers keep aviation active in a place without many built-in resources. On any given day, you’ll find members working on aircraft, troubleshooting problems, or helping each other figure things out. Because out here, that’s how it gets done.
That same hands-on approach extends beyond our members. We mentor a local 4-H high school aviation club, giving students hands-on exposure to aviation, tools, aircraft systems, and the airport environment. We also host Young Eagles flights, fly-ins, and public airport events that give people a straightforward way to step into aviation.
