Alan Kozikowski and Pat Haneline are building a Sling TSi aircraft through a Build/Assist program. Owners will work on 51% of the construction with staff completing the rest. Sling aircraft are manufactured by The Airplane Factory in South Africa and shipped to the US. The build center is located in Sandusky, Michigan, near Saginaw. About eight planes were in different stages of completion in the hangar.
Progress during the first week in early November resulted in a tail section. The plane should be complete in early April with a week per month spent working on the project.

Jeff Orear has moved his homebuilt Hatz to North Shetter’s hangar for completion this winter. After the November Chapter, meeting, Scott Menke, Jeremy A. and Adam M. helped him get the top wing center section mounted to the cabanes (the framework supporting the wings of an airplane at the fuselage). He’s since been busy taking care of small details in preparation to mount the wings.
Jeff Orear also reported that he received his tailwheel endorsement from CubAir Flight in Hartford WI this past month after 8 hours of instruction in a J3. He found it really enjoyable, and recommends the staff of CFI’s there as top notch.
