    EAA

 Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our Chapter.  We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.  We normally meet at the Menominee County airport terminal the second Tuesday of every month at 5:00 p.m.

Airport Day

Airport Day is scheduled for August 1, 2026 from 8 am to about 2:30 pm. New this year, the M&M Auto Club will hold their Auto & Cycle Show with our event. There will be a big Young Eagles rally. We will include activities for youth through a collaboration with the M&M Children’s Museum. Please contact pghaneline@aol.com if you can help.

BABE KALISHEK AND RAY SCHOLARSHIPS

The chapter will hold an information session for applicants for the Babe Kalishek Memorial Scholarship and a Ray Scholarship during the next chapter meeting. We will serve pizza and sodas. Any desert that you can provide will be appreciated. Please alert any person interested in flight training and local scholarships of the event. The EAA offers to prospective members a free 6-month EAA general membership trial, which includes the full set of EAA membership benefits at no cost. In addition, anyone who has taken a Young Eagle flight gets a student membership.

RAY SCHOLAR PASSES CHECKRIDE

Congratulations to Erik Kosch for completing his Private Pilot Certificate on Sunday, June 28th. Instructor Joe Ciochetto was at the Oconto Airport to give him support and delivered a shirt and lapel pin awards from EAA. Many thanks to Dennis Martin for being his mentor throughout the process. Delores Konrad provided encouragement and, as Scholarship Chair, was instrumental in getting the scholarship for the chapter. Thanks to all other supporters in the chapter. Erick is off to school on July 7th.

Member News

Steve Nabours shared some photos of his family visit to 9WN2, Voyager Village Airport in Webster, WI. This airport offers the conventional burger plus a round of golf. The runway is 3500 ft long and paved. Watch out for golf carts and golf balls. Photos show Aircraft Parking, overview, and #1 tee box next to runway.
