US Coast Guard MH-60 Helo visit (4/27/2024)

VP Dan was able to arrange a fly-in by the US Coast Guard helo unit from the San Diego sector for our April chapter meeting. The unit's commander introduced the crew and their roles at the chapter meeting followed by a close-up look and explanation of their aircraft's capabilities. We greatly appreciate the unit for their service and taking the time to treat us with a visit.

Fokker DR1 on display (10/28/2023)

Chapter member Rick Reichel taxied his Fokker DR1 tri-plane kit over to the Oct monthly meeting for a bit of show and tell. As he is nearing first flight, it was evident that most of the hard work is behind him. Rick gave a brief rundown on some of the plane's unique features as the meeting attendees listened intently. The faux machine guns and belt fed ammo are a nice inclusion and leave no doubt as to the aircraft's original WW1 design intent. We can't wait to see it up in the air. Great looking aircraft.

Riverside County Sheriff's Aero Squadron Helo (3/25/2023)

Chapter VP Dan was able to arrange a visit by the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's latest helicopter acquisition. At the March chapter meeting those in attendance were treated to a fly-in from the RCS Aero Squadron. The sheriff's pilots and crew provided an informative briefing about the squadron's operations and capabilities with the highly advanced Airbus helicopter. Close up views of the aircraft and equipment was a treat for all. A certificate of appreciation was presented by Chapter President Peter to the crew to wrap-up the occasion. (click images to expand)
