San Geronimo Airpark - 8T8

San Geronimo Airpark, 8T8, is a public use, privately owned, residential airpark that is also the home of EAA Chapter 35. The airpark is west-northwest of San Antonio, about midway between Boerne Stage Field (5C1) and the Castroville Municipal Airport (KCVB), and 19.3nm on the 237 radial from the SAT VOR (for those that still have a working VOR receiver).

Driving directions to the Airpark can be found on this website’s Home Page.

Please review the Airpark's Operating Rules.

Caution: when taxiing, grass areas are very soft when wet.

When flying into 8T8, be aware of the three tall towers in the area, it’s left traffic and please communicate on 122.9.

Please park in the Airpark’s Transient Aircraft Parking area which is just to the north of the Ops Building.

EAA

Airpark co-founder, Jeanette Hunt, was there at the beginning, the day the land was purchased from the Evers Family, all the way through until her passing in April, 2024. In 2020, Jeanette created and presented to Chapter 35 a history of San Geronimo Airpark, from the rock picking parties, to the well drilling, the construction of the Ops building and the Chapter clubhouse, to the paving of the runway, it's all there. We are gratefull to Jeanette for creating this presentation and reminding us of our history. You can read the full transcript of Jeanette's presentation here, or view her presentation here.
