Through the generous support of the Ray Foundation, EAA provides up to $10,000 to deserving youths for their flight training expenses, totaling nearly $1,200,000 in scholarships annually. The program is supported by more than 100 EAA chapters, and supports close to 120 scholars. Each year, our chapter supports one scholar, between the ages of 16 and 19, in the form of funding and mentorship to help him or her earn their pilot certificate. For students who want to apply for the Ray Aviation Scholarship - and for everyone who wants to know more - you can find information here. |
This year, EAA 74's Ray Aviation Scholar is Elise Phillips Elise is currently working on her Private Pilot certificate! "Over the past few months, I have been working hard to complete my Private Pilot Certificate. My most recent accomplishments have included several solo cross-countries, finishing off my night flights, and check ride prep. I plan to take my check ride at the end of September, God willing. Thank you, EAA Chapter 74, for the scholarship you generously bestowed on me, as it has allowed me to pursue my goal of becoming a commercial airline pilot. I am so grateful!" |
