International Young Eagles Day at Plainwell Municipal Airport 2022

It was a foggy morning on June 11th but it cleared up quickly.  METARS stated 200 overcast at Kalamazoo but all was bright and sunny at Plainwell airport and the vicinity.  The radios were very busy as YE pilots all over Michigan held their YE rallies as well.  In total we flew 96 youth on that Saturday.

I would like to give a HUGE thank you to all the pilots, ground crew and PASA youth pilot volunteers who I pushed far beyond what they thought they had signed up for. Thank you to the registration crew who remained calmly panicked as the EAA’s Main Young Eagles website crashed completely from the onslaught of youth signing up to fly all over the country.  To the pilots who flew through lunch and had to beg for bathroom breaks.  THANK YOU ONE AND ALL.
