Dewey Davenport

Dewey Duane Davenport has lived and breathed some sort of aviation since he was 7 years old. Starting out building and flying model airplanes. Now Over 40 years old and logged over 9000 flying hours, you will see that he has lived a unique life in his aviation career. Growing up in  Jamestown, Ohio. A one red light town that is approximately 35 miles east of Dayton, Ohio. Dewey has Flown and operated some of the most advanced aircraft in the world and at the same time flying and owning a couple of the oldest. Building and flying radio controlled aircraft has been something that he has enjoyed for over 30 years. During this time in the hobby he has enjoyed pylon racing at a national level when he was a teen, Giant Scale aerobatics, and actual RC turbine aircraft. He has competed in national and international events during his years of competing. In 2011 Dewey helped run and organize the 9th Jet World Masters at the National Museum of the United States Air Force.

During Dewey’s senior year in high school he started his first real flight lesson in a J-3 Cub at the Red Stewart Airfield in Waynesville, Ohio. His parent would not allow him to step foot in a aircraft until he was eighteen. Senior skip day was the first day when his parents allowed him to spread his wings. There was no stopping him then. He went on to receive his private pilot license in 1994.

After high school Dewey wasn’t sure what he wanted to do with his career. At 19 he went and got his real estate license and worked for a local real estate brokerage for a couple years.  A few quarters at the local community college wasn’t doing it for him so he enrolled in a local flight training program in Wilmington, Ohio. This is where he received his commercial and multi commercial rating.  From that point, Dewey has received his ATP and 5 different type ratings over the years. Currently employed full time as a first officer with Net Jets Aviation and at the same time he owns and operates a very popular biplane ride business.
