Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our Chapter.  We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so.Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.  The Marysville EAA Chapter 1629 is now 1 year old.  

 

Upcoming Marysville EAA Chapter 1629 Events:

  1. Saturday February 15, 2020 at 10:00 am there will be a chapter meeting at the Marysville Union County Airport.  The guest speaker will be Dewey Davenport: 

    Dewey Davenport has done something in aviation ever since he was 7 years old.  Dewey grew up in Jamestown, Ohio He started out building and flying Model airplanes and has been enjoying RC Aircraft for over 30 years.  As a teen he enjoyed RC pylon racing at a national level, giant scale aerobatics and actual RC turbine aircraft.   During his years of competing he completed in national and international events.  In 2011 he helped run and organize the 9th Jet World Masters at the National Museum of the United States Air Force.  Once Dewey became 18 years of age his parents allowed him to take his first flight lesson.  This would be in a J-3 Cub at the Red Stewart Airfield in Waynesville, Ohio.  He went on to receive his private pilot license in 1994.  Eventually he enrolled in a local flight training program in Wilmington, Ohio where he received his commercial and Multi commercial rating.  In the years since then Dewey has received his ATP and 5 different type ratings.  At the current time Dewey Davenport has over 9000 flying hours, is employed full time as a first officer with Net Jets Aviation and at the same time owns and operates a biplane ride business.

  2. Saturday March 14, 2020 at 10:00 am Dr. Mike Stretanski our EAA Chapter 1629 President will give a presentation at the Marysville Union County Airport regarding the Opioid Crisis.  The opioid epidemic is a national catastrophe. Every state and all demographics have been tragically impacted by this crisis. Every day more than 130 people in the United States alone die after overdosing on opioids. 

  3. Saturday April 11, 2020 at 10:00 am Come hear SkyVista's Aviation owner, captain at JetBlue Airways, retired Air Force reservist, IA and A&P Mechanic Dave Holden talk about Airplane Maintenance.  This will also be your chance to ask questions regarding your aircraft's maintenance.

 

We also plan on doing the AirVenture Chapter Camping in Oshkosh.  AirVenture is July 20, 2020 to July 26, 2020.  More information on AirVenture Chapter Camping as it becomes available.
