2023 Fly-Out Season

This flying season the EAA1457 chapter will have an official fly-out every third Saturday. Below is a list of dates and destinations through the end of the summer.

Saturday 5/13/23 - Independence, ETA 9:30am

Saturday 6/3/23 - Stark Twin Oaks (7S3), ETA 8:30.

Saturday 6/24/23 - Cottage Grove - Wings and Wheels

Saturday 7/15/23 - Creswell & Newport

Saturday 8/5/23 - Mulino

Saturday 8/26/23 - McMinnville (KMMV)

Saturday 9/23/23 - Lakeside (9S3) or Roseburg (RBG)

To make the fly-outs even more fun, we are going to make it a competition... with prizes!

- First place prize will be a $100 gift certificate for Aircraft Spruce.

- Second place prize will be a $25 gift certificate to the national EAA store.

- Third place prize will be a $25 gift certificate to Oregon Air and Space Museum.

Participation in the competition will be easy, simply send a photo related to the fly-out to the group at EAA1457@gmail.com or directly to Wayne E.

Points will be awarded to chapter members based on the following.

- The person submitting the photo will get two points.

- Owners of planes, cars, or other modes of transportation in the photo will each get a point.

- Chapter members whose faces are in a photo will each get a point.

- Three bonus points will be awarded for each flyout. (see below)

- Six bonus points will be awarded to the member who attended the most flyouts. The six points will be divided in case of a tie.

- And to make things interesting... members photographed with rabbit ears with loose two points! (+1 for the face, -3 for the rabbit ears)

The points will be tallied up during the monthly EAA meetings. The chapter members in attendance will review the photos and points will be awarded per the criteria mentioned above. The three bonus points will be awarded at the will of the members in attendance.

The winners will be announced at the October monthly meeting.

October 2nd EAA Meeting

We have wrapped up our 2023 Fly-out season and are ready to award some prizes. Thanks again to Aircraft Spruce, EAA, and the Oregon Air and Space Museum for there donations of prizes.
