EAA Chapter 122 "Poker Chip Run" will bring aviators & aviation enthusiasts together

for a fun and challenging aerial event in Central PA.

This event will be held on Saturday, May 21, 2022, and will start & end at EAA Chapter 122 Headquarters, Capital City Airport (CXY), Hangar 2 (large group hangar just east of the tower).

What is a "Poker Chip Run?"

A Poker Chip Run is an opportunity for aviation enthusiasts to fly to several local area airports while competing for prizes and having fun. Participants (pilots & their passengers who wish to participate) depart Capital City Airport (CXY) and fly to 3 local airports listed below. At each airport, participants draw poker chips and record the colors. Upon returning to CXY, all participants are treated to a BBQ lunch hosted by EAA Chapter 122 and prizes are awarded based upon points received for chips drawn.

Participants must be registered and have paid the event fee ($20) in order to collect prizes.

Flights will depart CXY and fly to the following airports, in any order:  York (THV), Lancaster (LNS), & Reading (RDG).

Note: Bermudian Valley (07N) may be substituted for RDG to shorten the route, if desired.

The FBO at each airport will have a jar containing poker chips. Participants will each draw 5 chips and record the colors on a provided registration sheet. These sheets will be turned in to the event coordinator at CXY upon return.

All participants must return to CXY and turn in their tally sheets no later than 1200 to be eligible for prizes.

While scores are tallied, participants will enjoy a BBQ lunch hosted by EAA Chapter 122.

At 1230, prizes will be announced based on the scores.

All participants will receive a commemorative Poker Chip & BBQ lunch.

Weather minimums for the event is 3000/5. Weather back up is Saturday, June 4th.  (Check this page 2 days before the event for weather outlook!)
