EAA Air Academy Training Scholarship

 
 

This scholarship will award qualified student pilots 16 to 18 years. The scholarship will sponsor a student to attend the Air Academy Navigating Horizon Camp 

Air Academy Navigating Horizons Camp

EAA 932 Air Academy Scholarship Requirements:
Horizons Camp - Session 2 (Ages 16-18): June 19 - 24, 2026
- Camper must be at least 16yrs old (by the first day of camp) and no older than 18yrs old.
- Complete application form including Parent/ Guardian’s signed permission to participate
in camp.
- 500 word essay that MUST include the following: (is 500 words too much?)
1. Why do you want to attend the EAA Air Academy?
2. What aviation experiences, education, or training do you have to date?
3. What aviation experiences would you like to gain from your EAA Air Academy
experience?
4. What aviation related career goals do you have that could be further advanced from
your experiences at the EAA Air Academy?
Please also include any other information you would like to share regarding why you
believe you should be selected for a scholarship.
Candidates will be scored on a rubric based points system to ensure all required criteria
have been met.

The scholarship committee will evaluate each application and essay. After reviewing the
information, the scholarship coordinator will schedule an interview with the top scoring
candidates and the scholarship committee. For candidates under the age of 18, a parent/
guardian may be present.
Once all candidates have been interviewed, the scholarship committee will choose the
scholarship recipient based on a rubric-based point system. The nominee with the highest score
who has also met interview criteria set by the committee will be the scholarship candidate.

If selected by EAA 932, the candidate must also complete EAA National’s application and be
approved by them to participate. EAA 932 Scholarship committee will assist the candidate with
EAA National’s application. Camper/ Parent/ Guardian must also provide all additional
paperwork/ forms required by EAA National (including: health history form, doctor form, travel
plans, signed code of conduct, and waiver).
EAA 932’s Air Academy Scholarship will cover the camp fee ($1300) which includes all
instruction, materials, meals and lodging in the beautiful EAA Air Academy Lodge, located at
Pioneer Airport on the grounds of the EAA AirVenture Museum at Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
This scholarship does not cover transportation costs. Transportation to and from Oshkosh is the
responsibility of the participant.
