Welcome to our chapter

Greetings to the EAA 898 Members and Visitors!

Fall is definitely here; the leaves are changing (and falling)!  Winter is just around the corner, although some days and nights it definitely feels like winter now!

We have now moved our meetings to the OEM and are looking forward to seminars and gatherings in a warm location.  In January we'll try something new; we'll meet at 6:00 PM for something to eat (prepared food such as subs or pizza, along with the usual sweets and coffee) followed by a short business meeting and some education and fun!  Come on out and enjoy the food and camaraderie and learn hopefully learn something too.

For now our Builds are still at our Hanger (#38) at MJX.  Bob promises that when it gets too cold he'll have work for us to do in his warm basement!  And, there are still treats to eat with lots of warm coffee.

Our December meeting will be our Holiday Party to be held on the FBO 2nd floor.  Let Arlene know if you can attend; the cost is $25.00 per person.

On November 18th Arlene and Bob will host a cocktail party for Jessica Cox who will be visiting from Arizona to view the progress on her RV-10.

The Builds are going well.  The Thatcher has been posted for sale in Barn Stormers and will hopefully be finished soon, allowing us to turn our full attention to the RV-10. And  waiting in the wings is the RV-14.  Also, Bob Newman promises more wind vane projects in the near future; we have two models being built: the trusty Cub and a Cessna 172.

Unfortunately, the weather did not work out for the last Young Eagles Event in October. For the 2025 season,:Thank you to the pilots who donated their aircraft, time and fuel! And thank you to the ground crews who manned tables and the flight-line.

We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.
