Greetings to the EAA 898 Members and Visitors!
Summer has arrived with flying weather!
Our second Young Eagles Event of 2026 took place on June 21st. Over 30 kids were flown! Thank you to the pilots and ground crew for making another memorable time for the kids! And, of course, thank you to Debbie for organizing and leading the charge as our Young Eagles coordinator.
Our June BBQ was really well received with over 50 people attending. Our guests included the Ocean County Commissioners and the Ocean County Sheriff. They stopped by to see the progress on the (Im)Possible Plane and get a tour of the Hanger. They spent a lot of time talking with our Builders and sharing stories with our members. And, of course, there was Betty's Baked Beans! (One of many great dishes brought by our members.). And we can't forget the roast pork, chicken, hamburgers and hot dogs prepared by our own Chef Palamara! The program centered on the homebuilt aircraft we have assembled over the past few years, including the GlasStar and the Rands. Also on display were Hugh's tail dragger and Steve's Kodiak.
The Builds are now being held Wednesdays and most Saturdays; Bob is determined to get as much completed on the RV-10 before its departure date scheduled for early July. If Wednesdays or Saturdays don't fit your schedule, but you still want to help, stop by; Bob or one of the crew are usually at the hanger working starting around 9:00 am.
We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.
