The Ray Aviation Scholarship is an incredible opportunity for aspiring young aviators in the Springfield area to earn their private pilot license with financial support from the EAA Ray Aviation Scholarship Fund. This prestigious program, funded by the Ray Foundation and administered by the EAA, helps passionate, motivated youth turn their aviation dreams into reality.
Since 2019, EAA Chapter 770 has proudly awarded five Ray Scholarships, helping young aviators take flight. Four of our recipients, Matt Shaw, Ayden Miller, Kenny Spaniol, and Larson Nester, have already earned their private pilot licenses, proving that with dedication, mentorship, and the right support, anything is possible.
As a Ray Scholar, recipients receive up to $12,000 toward flight training, along with invaluable guidance from local pilots and mentors. This is more than just a scholarship, it’s a chance to join a passionate aviation community, gain hands-on experience, and develop the skills needed for a lifetime of flying.
If you're a young aviation enthusiast with a strong work ethic and a dream to fly, this could be your opportunity! EAA Chapter 770 is committed to fostering the next generation of pilots, and we encourage Springfield-area youth to apply.
