Elizabeth Bron
Liz is a passionate aviation enthusiast and a proud member of the Springfield, Illinois aviation community. While she isn’t a pilot herself, her love for flying began early in life with dreams of becoming a Lufthansa flight attendant. Though life led her down a different path, aviation has remained a core part of her story.
Liz’s connection to flying deepened when she met and married her husband, Chris, an A&P mechanic and pilot. Together, they own a Cessna 172M affectionately nicknamed “This Wonderful Airplane” or TWA. The couple frequently embarks on adventures, flying to local destinations for lunch or taking extended trips to events like AirVenture at Oshkosh. Their aircraft has even been featured in a music video, Flight's Been Good, a humorous tribute to general aviation, for which Liz wrote the parody lyrics and produced the video.
Liz plays an integral role in their flying adventures, assisting Chris in the cockpit by handling ForeFlight navigation. Beyond flying, Liz enjoys sharing their love of aviation with family and the community. Her grandson Coury, inspired by their trips to AirVenture, dreams of becoming a pilot and engineer like his grandfather—a passion Liz enthusiastically supports.
As the Membership Coordinator for EAA Chapter 770, Liz channels her passion for aviation into fostering a strong and welcoming community. She works diligently to ensure that members feel connected and valued, helping to grow the chapter and its impact on local aviation enthusiasts.
Liz’s enthusiasm extends to her four-legged co-pilot, Rolf, a Bernie-doodle who loves flying just as much as she and Chris do. With his Mutt Muffs on, Rolf enjoys tagging along on their adventures, though he has a curious habit of barking at rivers from the sky.
Liz’s story reflects her dedication to aviation, family, and community. Through her efforts with EAA and her passion for flying, she continues to make a meaningful impact, helping to ensure a bright future for aviation enthusiasts of all ages.
