EAA Chapter 75

Quad Cities IA/IL

Volunteers Welcomed

No charity can be successful without the support of members willing do donate their time and efforts. These volunteers are vital to the success of chapter programs.

EAA Chapter 75 gladly welcomes volunteers to fill any number of capacities. EAA Chapter 75 is a non-profit charity and registered with Pleasant Valley School District service hours. Other Quad City Schools requiring service hours with local charities may also qualify.

  • Ground Operations - Assist with parking and directing aircraft
  • Registration - Help children and parents complete the registration forms before their flight and assign them to fly with available pilots
  • Escorts - Escort children safely to and from the aircraft
  • Ground School Instructors - Basic walk-around inspections of a display aircraft to familiarize children with major components of an airplane
  • Certificates - Complete the Young Eagles certificates for presentation following flights
  • Recruiters - Help find children who might be interested in a Young Eagles flight
  • Contact Bob Thomas at rbettendorf@aol.com if you would like to help out

High School Student Airplane Build (RV-12iS):

Three Iowa School Districts, Pleasant Valley, North Scott, and Bettendorf, have formed a combined aviation club named "PNB Aviation."  Students from this club are building an RV-12iS at the North Scott Transportation Center in Eldridge, IA.  Students began this project in the Fall of 2021.  As of February 2024, students have completed the tail section, both wings, and portions of the fuselage.  If you are wondering if building an airplane is something for you, we welcome you to stop by and observe during our build sessions.  We also welcome chapter members to volunteer as a build mentor where you will be guiding students in proper build techniques.  No previous build experience required to be a mentor.  Members must complete a short training project to understand basic sheetmetal techniques.
