Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 75 Leader Scholarship
Background:
The purpose of the leader scholarship is to promote the engagement and service of chapter members serving on the EAA Chapter 75 board or as officers. It also seeks to strengthen the general knowledge of the EAA Chapter 75 board and officer members, improving their understanding of the commitment and requirements of a pilot while operating an aircraft.
Applicant Eligibility:
- Applicants must have served as an officer or board member for one full term.
- Eligibility includes having passed the FAA private pilot knowledge exam or an equivalent exam for a sport pilot.
- Must have a minimum of a valid FAA recognized medical status.
- They must confirm that they have both the time and money necessary to complete the flight training, as well as to obtain either a private pilot rating or a sport pilot rating.
- Individuals must commit in writing to serve at least one more full term in their current role or another role as either an officer or board member. A waiver may be granted to current officers or board members who have already serve the prescribed time.
Scholarship Scope:
- The scholarship is a maximum of $4,000 and is intended to partially pay for the ground instruction and flight training necessary to complete a sport pilot's rating.
- Payment will be paid out in stage gates or at completion of the rating.
Cancelation of Scholarship Privileges:
- Scholarship privileges may be canceled because of a lack of progress in completing reasonable stage gates set by the Scholarship Directors.
- Scholarship Directors may cancel the scholarship privileges at any time and for any reason if they collectively determine cause.
