High School Student Airplane Build (Van's RV-12iS):
Three Iowa School Districts, Pleasant Valley, North Scott, and Bettendorf, have formed a combined aviation club named PNB Aviation Club. High school students in this club will construct a Van's RV-12iS at the North Scott Transportation Building in Eldridge, Iowa. This project began in the fall of 2021. As of February 2024, the tail section, both wings, and portions of the fuselage have been completed by students. We invite you to observe our build sessions if you are interested in discovering if building an airplane is the right activity for you. Additionally, we welcome chapter members to volunteer as build mentors, guiding students through the proper methods of building. Mentoring does not require previous build experience.
