Chapter History

December 18, 1979 - Non-profit entity established in Georgia as West Central Georgia Experimental Aircraft Association, Inc.

Articles of Incorporation were signed by President Bud Schuman (EAA 59262), Vice President LeRoy Storey (EAA 54151), and Secretary/Treasurer Dick French (EAA 146761)

February 6, 1980 - EAA Charter issued
March 1994 - Hosted EAA's B-17G Aluminum Overcast

November 1, 2002 - Recognized as "Earnie Shelton Day" by City Proclamation and airport road named Earnie Shelton Drive


February 14, 2009 - Past Chapter President Earnie Shelton enshrined in the Georgia Aviation Hall of Fame


February 16, 2010
- Chapter re-activated
June 29, 2011 - First Chapter website established


July 15, 2011- First issue of Hangar 13 News

February 2, 2012 - Name changed to Chattahoochee Valley EAA Chapter 677, Inc.

March 2012 - Thunder in the Valley Airshow


April 24, 2012 - First Air Academy Scholarship awarded to Jerad Lewark

May 22, 2012 - Hangar 13 agreement signed
October 27, 2012 - Flew 500th Young Eagle of the Year

 


February 2013
- Parade of Planes to the Landings

 

June 27, 2013 - First meeting in hangar 13 space

      

May 1, 2014 - Hosted EAA's Ford Tri-motor

                    

January 31, 2015 - Scout Aviation Merit Badge Event, 30 chapter volunteers trained/flew 91 participants
