Chapter 44 successes! Are you next?
To date, the Ray Aviation Scholarship Fund has sponsored four Chapter 44 student members to complete their Private Pilot Certificates.
Tyler M., our first Ray Scholar, earned his Private Pilot Certificate in February 2021. Tyler continues to support our chapter by flying Young Eagles and attending Baby Ace Restoration Team (BART) sessions when he is home from college.
Jake D. was our second Ray Scholar. He earned his Private Pilot Certificate in December 2022. Jake also continues to support the chapter by attending BART sessions when he is home from college.
Our third Ray Scholar is Sharon R. who completed her Private Pilot Certificate in August 2023. Sharon currently serves on the Chapter 44 Board of Directors, and she continues to be involved with BART.
Daniel N. is our current Ray Scholar. Daniel has completed his solo and passed his FAA written exam. He is an integral member of BART while he is working to complete his Private Pilot Certificate.
An Opportunity That Lasts A Lifetime
By Sharon R.
In August 2021, I took a Young Eagles flight. It was my first time in a small general aviation aircraft, and I remember feeling so much excitement, wonder, and enthusiasm!
I am proud to be EAA Chapter 44’s third Ray Scholar, where I’ve experienced tremendous support and enthusiasm from everyone. While pilot training is challenging, determination and perseverance can lead to a lifetime of discovery and opportunities.
Being a Ray Scholar is not just about flying; it’s also about teaching and inspiring others, particularly those who believe they can’t afford to pursue aviation. The Ray Aviation Scholarship opens doors that allow individuals to discover the world of aviation and form lasting friendships.
My journey as a Ray Scholar has introduced me to numerous wonderful experiences, including cross-country flights and breathtaking aerial views, and I am endlessly grateful to the incredible members of EAA 44 for their support throughout my Private Pilot Training and beyond.
Blue Skies, Everyone!
