It is with gratitude and fond memories that the Eric E. White Memorial Flight Scholarship Fund has been created by Vincent Miraldi to honor my friend and fellow aviation enthusiast Eric.

‍Established with generous donations by Vincent, Eric’s wife Christie and friends, it is our collective vision that this scholarship fund will be ongoing, supported by those who wish to honor and remember Eric and support his love of aviation through ongoing flight training scholarships.

‍Although he was not a pilot, Eric loved aviation. Being the son of a C-47 transport pilot in WWII, one could say that was his motivation. As a child, he would follow his father (who was also a Boeing Engineer) around the house when anything mechanical needed repair. Before Eric started his 30 plus year career at Boeing in Seattle, he worked as a motorcycle and auto mechanic. While at Boeing, he started as a welder on the hydrofoil program and retired in the computing support field. He had an insatiable curiosity about anything mechanical, especially vintage radial engines. But his quest for knowledge didn’t stop there. He was well versed and knowledgeable on a wide range of topics.

‍In addition to his love of powered flight, Eric was also an avid birder and made many donations in support of wildlife and animal shelters. All of us who knew Eric will be reminded of his kind spirit, sense of humor and generosity. He was a quick learner and helpful with others who were not as gifted. Even in death, his humanitarian spirit did not end as he willingly donated his body to research in hopes that others may live.

‍He was a dedicated husband, humanitarian and self-made engineer who also loved music, science, architecture, geology, fishing and motorcycles. He was our friend, a husband, our brother, and it is a privilege to honor him through this ongoing scholarship fund.
