Welcome to EAA Chapter 75, the largest, oldest, and most active Quad Cities aviation chapter. Founded in 1959, the chapter's mission is to share the joy of aviation and advancing aviation education with pilots, builders, and enthusiasts alike.   

Chapter Announcements

  • Chapter Gatherings: In addition to our monthly 1st Saturday Coffee & Donuts social event, our chapter will hold chapter gatherings every 4th Saturday from January through May and September through November at Revv Aviation, 9230 N. Harrison St., Davenport, IA 52806 from 8:30 AM to 11:00 AM.   
  • Chapter Potlucks: In the summer months, June through August, the chapter holds a potluck lunch at noon on the second Saturday of each month at a local airports or airstrips. In December, our chapter hosts a holiday potluck.
         
    • First Saturday Coffee & Donuts: On October 4th from 8:30-11:00 AM, we hope to see everyone at our 1st Saturday of the month coffee and donuts hosted by Rick & Shari Meyer at their farm. Please come and see his Van’s RV-14A project build and 1973 Cessna 172M Skyhawk II and for some good hangar talk. They will also be providing a special brunch for all the attendees.      
      • FLYING: The Meyer Airstrip is one mile North of New Liberty, IA. Runway 09/27, 2200’ x 90’, turf. Lat/Long: N 41⁰ 43’ 48” (41.73012⁰), W 90⁰52’27” (-90.87421⁰). Elevation: 825’ MSL (estimated). Frequency: 122.900. Obstructions: There is a house and trees on the west end, offset tree on the east end. This airstrip is not on the sectional. 
      • DRIVING: Just drive to Rick & Shari Meyer’s Farm at 29159 10th Ave., New Liberty, Iowa 52765.  Vehicle parking is off the runaway on the north side and up by the farm equipment on the west end. Call Rick Meyer at 563-370-3377 before you takeoff to receive the latest airstrip conditions and if you get lost.

  • Chapter Business Meeting: The Board of Directors will hold a business meeting at 4:30 PM on October 8th at Revv Aviation, 9230 North Harrison Street in Davenport, Iowa. We encourage all of the membership to attend.
  • Chapter Gathering - October 25thThe October 25th Chapter Program will be by chapter member Brett Lohman. He is the Co-President of Lohman Companies. His company offices are located in Moline, IL. and Geneseo, IL. Lohman Companies operate in 30 states within the United States of America. Brett has over 35 years of experience han-dling aviation insurance for large companies and pri-vate individuals. Lohman Companies also provides policies for amateur-built and factory-built aircraft ranging from scratch-built homebuilt to Gulfstreams. Brett is a pilot and has flown a Piper Navajo for his company. Brett’s experience in this industry makes  him uniquely qualified to discuss and answer ques-tions regarding aviation insurance needs
    .
    The title of Brett’s presentation, “How to Acquire Insurance for Amateur-Built Aircraft,” will discuss the implications of each of the following:
    1. Builder's risk coverage while under construction.
    2. Premises liability insurance to satisfy landlord lease requirements.
    3. When the aircraft is completed:
    a. Full flight liability and hull coverage
    b. Ground-only, not in motion hull coverage
    c. Ground-only in-motion hull cov-erage
    Brett will also discuss coverage options for factory-built aircraft, including antique aircraft. Finally, Brett will discuss the ability to insure flights within the 48 states as well as internationally.

    The presentation will begin at 9:30 AM during the chapter gathering event, located at Revv Aviation, 9230 North Harrison Street, Davenport, IA 52806. You can arrive early from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM to socialize, have coffee, and a donut.

  • EAA Chapter 75 Board Member Elections The EAA Chapter 75 nominating committee will con-sist of Steve Gibson (Lead), Ron Ehrecke, and Liz Richards. Open board positions to be filled include President and Vice President, as Dan Murphy and Rily Grunwald have decided not to continue and seek reelection. The other positions that are open are three Class II Director positions (Carl Brown, Craig Olson and Summer Kuehl). The nominating committee will be identifying chapter members to help fill these open leadership positions. Any chapter member interested in serving in one of these roles, or nominating a fel-low chapter member, please contact Steve Gibson at 309-657-8006, Ron Ehrecke at 309-236-9785, or Liz Richards at 563-940-1208. The Chapter Annual Elec-tions and Monthly Gathering will be held on Saturday, November 22nd at Revv Aviation, 9230 N. Harrison St. Davenport, Iowa 52806. The Chapter Annual Elections and Monthly Gathering will begin at 8:30 AM with elections taking place at 9:15 AM, followed by the Chapter Gathering program.
