February 27, 2024...
Hello fellow EAA'ers
We had a great turnout for the last meeting at the Marshall airport and Griswold aviation, the location of Rebuild Rescue's Grumman cougar. We even had visitors from the chapter from the Riverview airport in Grand Rapids.
It was great to hear of all the activities coming up with Young Eagles.
Also great to hear from all the building of new aircraft in the chapter 221 members.
The meeting ended with the somber details of the Cougar crash February on February 1st that took the pilot’s life. The preliminary NTSB report shows that the pilot failed to do a preflight and water was found throughout the fuel system causing the engines to fail.
The VMC club meeting hit on the same type of failure, engine out.
Well we have a warmer than normal spring ahead (sorry goes out the skiers out there, unless it's water skiers, a skier was noted on Fishers lake already).
That's all from the prez for now. See ya all at the next meeting.
Breaking right.
Prez out
Brian Klenoski
EAA Chapter 221 president
