Dear EAA Chapter 175 members,
The most recent chapter meeting of 2025 was held last Saturday, June 28th. Thanks to Mike and Roy for cooking breakfast before the meeting.
We had a good turnout for Bud Yerly’s presentation on preparing for and handling lost communications during flight. This is a complex topic where the procedures outlined in the regulations are not always a perfect match for the circumstances we find ourselves in. Bud and Ryan McKeon both recapped recent flights involving lost comms before Bud led a comprehensive general review of the technical issues and regulations involved. The session highlighted the importance of practicing emergency procedures thoroughly before experiencing them for the first time in the air!
As mentioned in the meeting, 2025 is an election year for the chapter (we aim to keep things civil!) If you have any interest in being a club officer (President, VP, Treasurer, Secretary, Membership director) please make your interest known to me at the July meeting or by replying to this email at eaachapter175@gmail.com. It’s possible that there may be some gentle twisting of arms in the near future to encourage interest in the positions! 😊
Further details of the meeting will be available in the near future on the chapter website here: https://chapters.eaa.org/eaa175/chapter-past-events
The next chapter meeting will be on Saturday morning, July 26th. Details of the program to follow in the near future.

All the best,
Ryan McKeon
