Chapter Educational Center Fund Raising for Advancement of Aerospace

EAA Chapter 175 Phase 1 and 2 Programs in Need of Donation of Funds and Items
   EAA Chapter 175 is asking for donations to expand 175 Chapter Educational Center with a new hangar with new basic metal workshop tools in the Phase 1 Program to educate and attract  Hillsborough county students and residents to the Aerospace industry.
    Phase 2 program, when funds are available is to purchase a building and property to house the most advanced CNC equipment to educate students and the residents of this community in the use of the most advanced tooling methods that are used in the world today in the Aerospace Industry. To be able create, design and build experimental aircraft by using the most efficient and advance tooling that is available.

 

    Phase 1 program for EAA Chapter 175 involves adding more square footage for the Chapter Educational Center (CEC) for Assembly Building. Phase 1 program will add 3400 Square footage for hangar type construction building at a airport with access to runway.  Part of hangar space will be used temporary for 175 CEC workshop for the new purchase or donated metal tooling equipment in Phase 1 program. The remaining space will be for final assembly and final testing out experimental aircrafts.
Estimated cost for construction  hangar building only and doing land lease with airport authority is $125,000.

 

 

 

Here is list for  Phase 1 basic tooling needs for Chapter 175 for purchasing or the donation of equipment.

48 inch, 16 ga box and pan brake with 52 inch foot shear by Tennsmith.
   Models HBU48-16 and 52.
   Package cost of items is $ 4560.00

16 ga slitter by Rams.  Model 2011-C.
    Cost of item is $3595.00

10ft heavy duty 16ga sheet metal straight brake by Tennsmith,
   Model HB121-16. Cost of item is $6825.00  .

Power Bead Roller. Model BR-18E-24 by Baileigh.
   Cost of item is $1395.00

Two Stage 40 gallon, 5hp Air compressor by Puma.
    Cost of item is $1200.00

TIG welder, model K5126-1, Lincoln Electric Square Wave TIG 200.
   Cost of item is $1900.00

18" Nova Voyager DVR Variable Speed Drill Press.
   Cost of Item is $ 1850.00

18" 2 HP Variable-Speed Vertical Metal-Cutting Bandsaw, Model Grizzly G0807.   Cost of item is $3800.00

All other aircraft hand tools with air tools for subtotal cost of $ 4300.00.

 

Subtotal for Phase 1 Program for basic tooling is $ 29,425.00

Phase 2 program will begin when funds are available to purchase a used warehouse type building under 10000 Square feet and close to 175 CEC Assembly Building at airport and space will be used for the additional purchase or donation of advance CNC tooling equipment and for assembling of  sub-assembles of experimental aircrafts. Then all tooling from 175 CEC Assembly Building at airport  will be moved to the new 175 CEC of Advancement Tooling Building. Estimated cost of existing built type of warehouse building with land is between $65 to $85 per square foot. For 6500 square foot building/land cost is around $542,500 to $552,500.

   Cost of item is $ 25,000.00

CNC 5-Axis High-Speed Trimming and Machining of Advance Materials.
   Model QUBE Series 144 and made by C.R.Onsrud.
   Cost of item is $ 350,000.00

 

Subtotal for Phase 2 Program for advance CNC tooling is $420,000.00
