The Wildwoods Kathy Jaffe Acroblast!

NOTE:  Our sister Chapter in New Jersey, IAC 52, will be co-hosting the Acroblast contest in Cape May, NJ.

2024 Acroblast Contest!
September 6-8

Further details and the latest updates can be found on the IAC Contest Calendar.

EAAIAC Chapter 58 hosts one of the best contests in the Northeast.  What makes it so great?  First, it has a well-marked aerobatic box.  A good box makes it much easier to maintain situational awareness while flying a tough sequence.  For the region, we think ours is pretty hard to beat.

Add to that a big airport with acres and acres of space yet generally peaceful during the parts of the year when we typically hold our contest.  The staff at FlightLevel Aviation and DRBA provide 150% of the support contest organizers and participants need to ensure a successful weekend.  But most importantly we have the generous assistance from the folks at Morey's Piers who run much of the Wildwood boardwalk.  They provide equipment storage, discounted rooms, volunteer staff, amusement park passes(!) and so much more.

Aerobatic contests are normally not the most family friendly affairs.  Even if a competitor can somehow manage to pack both plane and significant others to the event, they still find themselves so focused on competing and fulfilling volunteer duties that family can take a distant back seat.  The Acroblast! is a little different.  With all there is to do on the the picturesque Cape and along the boardwalk, there really is no reason for your crew to ever be bored here.
