Hot Springs Hot Air Balloon Festival 8-23

Lots of folks braved the early morning temperatures for this event. 

It turned out to be a really nice day once the temps warmed up.

 And they're off!! There were a total of 18 balloons for the festival with several states being represented. There were balloons and crews from Arizona, Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico, Iowa, Wyoming, Montana, Minnesota, and of course, South Dakota. 

There were also 3 powered parachutes flying around the airport area as well but they did steer clear of the balloons. There was also more activity in town with an unairworthy balloon on display at the Mammoth Site and inflated so folks could walk around inside it.  They are huge inside as one might imagine.
