EAA’s local chapters are about people, bringing together individuals interested in learning more about aviation as well as sharing their own knowledge.
Chapter members are involved in a variety of social and educational activities, including Young Eagles rallies, fly-ins, building seminars, and more, to build awareness in the community.
EAA Chapter 326 was founded on October 21, 1969. Based at Thun Field in Puyallup WA there is a long history of Sport Aviation here in the Northwest. This group has been involved in community outreach and education about aviation since the beginnings and is a tradition that continues today with our Young Eagles program and participation in the local TeenFlight program.
“Membership is open to any person of good moral character…(subject to approval)” – those were the rules, laid down in 1969 by our founders.
The founding members included:
- Denell Zander of Enumclaw
- Dean Chapman of Spanaway
- Charles Crawford of Tacoma
- Merritt Koon of Tacoma
- Fred Ludtke of Puyallup
- Lawrence Young of Tacoma
