REQUIRED: You must be a member of EAA Chapter 216, and a pilot actively flying.
This program strives to keep our pilots proficient by logging how much hours they have flown, and through a set of fun challenges every quarter, and we do it through bingo! A bingo card is sent out to you every quarter to do tasks such as maneuvers, takeoffs and landings, instrument approaches, getting flight lessons in, and attending several EAA events throughout the year. When you get bingo, you earn credit for hours you may not have logged as much for a month, or any hours you missed.
At the end of the year, we provide awards to those who have participated in the program this year. Notably the Tom McDowell Aviation Safety Award, which is awarded to the pilot that logged the highest hours of flight instruction RECEIVED throughout the year, and the Jake Lewis Aviation Leadership Award for flight instructors providing the highest hours of flight instruction GIVEN throughout the year!
Upon completion of the application, you will be provided a link to the Pilot Proficiency Program Hours Submission form. The Pilot Proficiency Program coordinator will reach out to you accordingly.
