Whether you fly, build, restore or simply enjoy airplanes and aviation, you are welcome to attend our events and join our Chapter.
We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so.
EAA’s local chapters are about people, bringing together individuals interested in learning more about aviation as well as sharing their own knowledge. Chapter members are involved in a variety of social and educational activities, including Young Eagles rallies, fly-outs, building seminars, and more, to build awareness in the community.
Members enjoying one of our Friday night meetings in our clubhouse at the Grand Haven airport.
Most of our regular meetings are held on the first Friday evening of each month, except the rare occasion it conflicts with a holiday (then we move it to the next Friday). In August we hold a Chapter 211 Family Picnic where spouses and children are encouraged to attend. Sometimes our meetings are held at different locations than our own clubhouse at the Grand Haven Memorial Airport. For example we hold several of our meetings per year at Ottawa Executive Airport, just east of Zeeland, MI, and sometimes we do project visits at the hangar's, shops and garages of our own members who are building a plane there. So, what we are saying is, please come to our next meeting or event as our guest. Just be sure to check our Calendar of Events so you know where to meet us!
Coffee Break is a great time to network and socialize!
The founder of EAA, Paul Poberezny, used to say that "EAA is like a three-legged stool. It has an aviation component, an education component, and a social component. If any one component, or leg of the stool, if you will, is not in place, the stool falls over, and so will EAA." So, we socialize before meetings, during (coffee break), and after meetings. Our meetings are always educational, and usually have a program that falls into one or more of several categories, including safety, technology, history, and adventure, all revolving around aviation. Then, after the meetings, some of the guys will head to Clover Bar for pizza and more conversation and socializing.

Chapter 211 is part of the worldwide network of EAA chapters. EAA, the Experimental Aircraft Association based in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, embodies the spirit of aviation through the world's most engaged community of aviation enthusiasts. EAA's 170,000 plus members enjoy the fun and camaraderie of sharing their passion for flying, building and restoring recreational aircraft.
