Meeting on Saturday, November 9, starting at 9:30am: Winterizing your plane and flying
This month’s chapter meeting will focus on icing, anti-icing, and de-icing as it relates to general aviation. Don’t fly in ice! Or get out of it as quickly as possible.
Members will have a chance to discuss their experiences and advice concerning winter flying. Cool fall weather has an effect on engine performance and weather situations, and winter brings another set of variables: icing aerodynamics, snow, runway traction and visibility. When have you checked your engine heaters, carb heat and pitot heat? Lots to talk about. A list of timely articles and sources for additional information will be available. Should be a great chance for some thoughtful hangar flying.
Nancy Priebe will have the new Chapter 145 logo gear available.
Doors open at 9:30am for “hangar talk” and the presentation will begin at 10:00am.

Ongoing: VMC Club
VMC Club meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the lobby of Riverview airport (08C).
The VMC Club offers monthly meetings in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experience. The meetings use real-world scenarios to engage members, and allow a free exchange of information that improves awareness and skills. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency.
All EAA members are automatically eligible to take part in VMC (and their instrument counterparts, IMC Club) programs in their local chapters.
