Meeting on Saturday, February 8, at 10:00am: ‘Hot Air Ballooning’

The Chapter 145 monthly meeting is held on the second Saturday of the month, for February on the 8th at 10 AM in the big hangar at 08C. The topic thismonth is hot air ballooning, presented by Tom Brown.

Tom has a unique aviation knowledge set. Hot Air Ballooning has special shapes (experimental), one person “hoppers” (ultralight), as well as standard shapes. Want to take a ride?

He is going to describe this type of flying, what it is like to ascend in a basket, experiences he has had, and answer any questions you might have. What a great chance to experience being airborne, drifting over the countryside, seeing things really low and slow.

This Chapter 145 meeting is a great chance to socialize and share flying and building stories! We have a great group of pilots, families, students, builders and perhaps new people with an interest in aviation. All are welcome!

Ongoing: VMC Club

VMC Club meets the third Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the lobby of Riverview airport (08C). 

The VMC Club offers monthly meetings in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experience. The meetings use real-world scenarios to engage members, and allow a free exchange of information that improves awareness and skills. The intent is to create a community of pilots willing to share information, provide recognition, foster communications, promote safety, and build proficiency.

All EAA members are automatically eligible to take part in VMC (and their instrument counterparts, IMC Club) programs in their local chapters.
