Hello Chapter Members

  • Last Saturday was our regular meeting at Casa Grande airport. The flyin/drivein went well. We did some chapter business followed by a maintenance demo on care and feeding of your ELT by Cecil Orozco.
  • With the loss of the chapter VP Arron Smith due to job transfer, Hank Caple has been appointed chapter VP by the BOD. So when you see Hank thank him for stepping up to lead the chapter.
  • We welcomed some first timers to the meeting including  Mike Flores and his wife Sheila and then did plenty of socializing and pizza eating. Some of us toured John Dean and Becki's new hangar under construction. John decided "why build just a hangar when you can build a gigantic hangar". It's big!
  • The Ray Scholarship committee along with the help of Benjamin Kidsom continues their work to identify potential scholars.
  • May 4th the Chapter will be flying Young Eagles from the Chandler airport.  As always volunteer pilots and ground support personnel are needed.  Please contact Lisa Pham if you would like to volunteer.
  • Tom West in Payson will be hosting an annual get together on May 5, 2024 at the Payson airport campground. It's a great opportunity to fly in, enjoy socializing and food on Sunday afternoon and evening and stay the night at the airport campground. If you are going please let Bob Meyer know so he can make campground reservations and let Tom know how many to expect. Text Bob at 602-743-5208. This is a popular event for EAA'ers but is not a EAA event. All are welcome.
  • We will be having our May 18, 2024 chapter meeting at (2AZ4) Millar Field. This is a popular meeting and many thanks to Chuck Millar for hosting. You can fly or drive to Millar Field and I will have detailed info later on the event.

  • You will see the gold emblem signifying your chapter has achieved the Gold Status for our activities last year. When you see Cecil and all the people that worked to make the chapter successful in the past, tell them how much you appreciate their efforts.
  • Many chapter members have not paid their 2024 dues yet. No problem, just bring your $20 cash, check or money order with you and Mark Weiss will be on hand to record your payment. Not sure if you have paid? Check with Mark.
  • Is your airplane dusty? Get it out of the hangar and go flying!
