President's message - October 2026 Hello everyone, As we wrap up the year we have several events coming up. Please join us on Saturday, November 7th, at EAA Chapter 14 as we celebrate our Chapter’s 70th anniversary! We received our charter as EAA 14 on October 5,1956. Saturday November 14th is our final Young Eagle rally of 2026. Saturday November 21th we will be holding our annual November elections for Officers and Directors. If you'd like to serve on the Chapter board and be involved in planning the chapter’s future, now is the time to step forward - don't be shy! And if you'd like to nominate someone else, now is the time to do it (preferably after you check with them!). For an absentee ballet and full details please scroll down. Save the date for the annual holiday luncheon on Saturday December 5th, and there is a Holiday Party at Casa Machado on Friday December 11th, watch your email for more information. Please join us for these events and help us, along with our members and friends, to celebrate EAA Chapter 14! Best regards, EAA Chapter 14 Election Rules Eligibility: Chapter members of record in good standing (i.e. dues up to date through the current year as of November 1). EAA National rules and our Chapter bylaws require that Chapter members must be EAA National members to vote in Chapter elections. By casting a Chapter ballot, members are attesting that they are current EAA National members. Voting Procedure: You may vote in person at our November membership meeting, on Saturday, November 21st, 2026. There will be ballots available at the meeting or you may bring a completed ballot to the meeting with you. You should not write your name on your ballot. Alternatively, you may vote by mail-in, drop-off or emailed proxy. Proxies received up to Friday, November 13th, 2026 will be accepted. When voting by mail-in or drop-off proxy, include your name and signature at the bottom of the form. Place your proxy in the white mailbox outside Hangar 1 or mail your proxy to: EAA Chapter 14 Election Ballot 1409 Continental Street San Diego, CA 92154-5707 To email your proxy, send it from your registered member email address to eaa14contact@gmail.com no later than Friday, November 13th, 2026. The Secretary will validate mail-in, drop-off and emailed proxies against the registered voter roster before the meeting by matching, as appropriate, the name and return address or sending email address of submitted proxies. To preserve secrecy, the Secretary will separate the voting portion from identification information before counting by the Nominating Committee. How to Mark your Ballot/Proxy Vote for both Officers and Directors. Use blank spaces for write-in candidates. Write legibly and mark your ballot clearly. Ballots with votes for more than 4 officers or more than 14 additional (non-officer) directors will be invalidated. Vote only once! Thanks for voting and supporting your Chapter.
Not only are we one of the oldest, but we’re also one of the largest and most active chapters in the EAA. And as part of that, we will be celebrating our recognition as a Gold Chapter for 2025, hanging up our 2025 EAA gold Chapter award in Hangar #1.
Thanks to all of our members, pilots, volunteers, Young Eagles and parents who once again made it possible!! To celebrate our anniversary, we are hosting an open house, pancake breakfast and BBQ. The festivities will include a free morning pancake breakfast at 9:00 AM, hosted by members of our Young Eagles program. We’ll also be having BBQ lunch with all the fixings at 1:00 PM. A donation of $10 would be much appreciated. We will be wrapping up the evening with a family friendly movie and star gazing.

Getting to our chapter has changed! Because of construction going on right next to us at Brown Field, it is a bit puzzling on how to get to us. We are right next to the FAA Control Tower, so enter at Gate 4 (Call EAA from the access pedestal to open the gate.) Drive through Gate 4, then turn left into the construction site. Turn right at the fence along Taxiway Alpha and keep driving on the dirt road past the Tower until you get to our hangars. The picture shows the basic route as of right now. The roads that are shown on the Google screen shot have been covered up by the construction, so just follow the red lines.

We are a group of aviation enthusiasts, aircraft builders, and pilots who get together with like minded people to share ideas, exchange information, encourage safety, serve the local aviation community and have a lot of fun doing so. Please come to our next meeting or event as our guest.
We hold monthly membership meetings on the third Saturday each month at 10:00AM.
On meeting days, we serve breakfast in the hangar from 8:00 to 9:30AM, waffles or pancakes, eggs and sausage for $5.00
Meetings start at 10:00AM with a brief discussion of chapter business, followed by a guest speaker. Most programs are eligible for WINGS credit.
We hold monthly Young Eagle Rallies on the second Saturday each month at 9:00AM.
